Irene: Vanessa, or "Vanee" as I affectionately call her, has been in my life since the beginning of Grade 8. We somehow managed to survive high school together - acne, boy crushes, bad hair, big glasses and all! There were times in high school when our paths deviated as Vanessa was a jock and I was the bookish nerd. However, we always managed to find our way back to each other sharing laughs, sleepovers, endless notes and talks about boys.

 

When I ended up at UBC and she at Langara, I thought my life was over without my best friend at my side. But we still managed to be there for each other and she was the one I turned to when my heart was stolen by a certain Filipino boy. We continue to share our love of shopping, stealing away for sushi dinners and talking the night away (now about our men!).

 

She is a loving wife to her husband, Uly, and is also an amazing mom to her two beautiful kids - Graydon and Lexie.
